Carnival Court Backpackers and Accommodation offer self-catering accommodation for backpackers and budget travellers in a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere, right in the heart of Cape Town, on Long Street. At Carnival Court, you're never far from the action, be it nightclubs, restaurants, beaches or hiking trails. This grand old Victorian building, dating from the eighteen hundreds, just had a radical face-lift. If you remember the old Lion's Den, you won't recognize it as Carnival Court! With three giant floors of cosy rooms and woodwork restored to its original splendour, the interior feels fresh and majestic. From the two enormous balconies on the first and second floor, you can spy on the street life, look out over the skyline onto the slopes of Signal Hill or see the ocean above the palm tree on the other side. With two fully equipped kitchens, you will feel right at home.
 
From late afternoon you can meet fellow travellers in host spacious buzzing ZanziBar for a drink and a game of pool. Just outside is Cape Town’s hub of activity that is Long Street. Take your pick of the bars, clubs and restaurants that line the pavement from the doorstep and step into the best of the city’s nightlife! Establishment are five minutes walk from the famous Greenmarket Square and the Cape Town city center. Join us in host buzzing ZanziBar for a sundowner on the veranda, or game of pool or foosball. The spacious bar leads onto a veranda from where you can watch the street life or laze in the sun with a book and an ice cold beer. Or watch the latest sport matches on satellite TV and support your team. On Sundays establishment have a braai (South African barbeque) – just bring your own meat, establishment supply the coals, salads, breads, good tunes and vibes for free. You can also have your own barbeque whenever you like.

Just outside is Cape Town’s hub of activity, Long Street, where you can take your pick of the bars, clubs and restaurants that line the pavement. Long Street offers some of the best of the city’s nightlife. The access control keypad at host security gate allows you to come and go as you please, so those who party until the early hours of the morning need not worry about being back on time as the secret pin code allows you 24-hour access. Secure parking is available at R50 per day. If you only need to park for a few hours, parking on the street costs R6 per hour during office hours. Night time parking is also available at the petrol / gas station at R25 per night.

Establishment offer adaptors and alarm clocks for sale or for a fully refundable deposit. Cold drinks and beers are for sale at reception, where you can also help yourself to tea and coffee for free. There is also a cigarette and snacks dispenser on the premises. Other services include foreign exchange (Euro, USD, British Pound), fax sending and receiving (sending faxes are charged), message holding. You may also have items posted to us (c/o Carnival Court, P O Box 16101, Vlaeberg, 8018). There is a card phone in the building where you can receive or make telephone calls. For those on a strict budget or who prefers to prepare their own food, establishment have 2 fully fitted self-catering kitchens where you can cook up a storm. Supermarkets are close-by within walking distance. Across the road there is a 24-hour internet café where you can stay in touch with your friends and loved ones. At the top of the street, a 2-minute walk, you will find two laundromats where you can drop off and collect your laundry. You will also find various bookshops, boutiques, restaurants, café’s etc in host immediate vicinity.
