Estate Private Hotel is located in Kimberley in Northern Cape, South Africa. With the discovery of diamonds in 1807, Kimberley was created and with it, the wealth of the empires of this diamond era.
In 1907 number 7 Lodge Road, Belgravia, designed by G.W. Greatbatch, was built as a wedding present for Mary Oppenheimer, wife of Sir Ernest Oppenheimer.
Today the house stands as a tribute to the great diamond days.
Through the years it has witnessed many historic events, including the births of Harry Oppenheimer on 28th October 1908 and his younger brother Frank, in 1910.
Declared a National Monument in July 1991, The Estate was opened to the public as a Boutique Hotel on 5th June 1997. Today we offer our guests accommodation in seven luxurious air conditioned, en-suite rooms, surrounded by beautiful gardens, an A-la-Carte restaurant on site and ample secure parking within the grounds encased with 12 feet walls.
The property is situated in the historic residential area of Belgravia, close to other tourist attractions, including Dunluce, Hobb House, McGregor Museum and Kimberley Girls High School, to name but a few.
