Visit one of the Ostrich farms or enjoy some off-road fun on one of the scenic 4x4 routes. When in Oudshoorn be sure to visit the Cango Caves in the Swartberg Mountain range (an international Heritage Site). About 10 000 years ago, the Khoisan used the entrance area of the cave as shelter. Stunning rock formations make the caves a popular tour. The standard tour covers the largest chambers of the Cave system, & makes for relatively easy walking. The more adventurous can opt for the Adventure Tour and explore a series of confined and mysterious tunnels and interspersed chambers. Alternatively, sample some of the local wines on the Klein Karoo wine route.
