Coastal Tours
The Namib Desert is the oldest desert in the world (some 80 million years old) and is home to the Welwitschia Mirabillis, a botanical curiosity and one of the most fascinating plants in the world (one of the plants in the Namib has a recorded age of about 1500 years). The dunes create the essential character of the Namib - which has some of the highest dunes in the world as well as being the most photographed.
Welwitschia, Lichen & Moon Landscape: The Moon Landscape is a geological phenomenon. This area consists of granite and mica-schists eroded into badland topography over millions of years.
Flamingo, Birding and Oyster Tours: Walvis Bay Lagoon is considered to be the most important coastal wetland in Southern Africa today as well as one of the most important bird areas in Africa. The lagoon is home to the greatest concentration of sea and shore birds in Southern Africa. It is a declared Ramsar Site (and a wetland of International importance). Flamingo, birding and oyster/champagne tours, seal and dolphin tours, kayaking, catamaran sailing, quad-biking, sand-boarding, angling, are some of the activities available at the coast. Inland Tours
Etosha: The Etosha National Park is one of the major sanctuaries for wildlife in Africa. You will see large herds of game in a setting that is a uniquely African experience. The Park covers an area of 22 270 square km. There are close on 140 species of mammal and 340 bird species in Etosha.
Caprivi: In stark contrast to most of Namibia, the Caprivi is "a piece of different Africa" - a land of woodlands and flood plains, where rivers never run dry. Home to over 70 species of fish, 400 bird species and countless wild animals, in particular hippopotamus, crocodile, antelope such as sitatunga, sable, and, of course, elephant, etc etc.
Damaraland: This is an arid, mountainous wilderness of rugged beauty, with spectacular gorges and rock formations. Twyfelfontein has one of the most extensive galleries of rock art in Africa, with over 2000 documented engravings. The Damaras are of Bantu origin but speak a Khoisan language. Together with the San, they were the first inhabitants of current Namibia. Damaraland is home to the magnificent desert elephant as well as the black rhino, which have adapted to the hostile conditions of this part of the country - a geological wonderland.
Kaokoveld: The Kaokoveld (also known as Kaokoland) is one of the untouched regions in Namibia, and one of the last remaining wilderness areas in Southern Africa, with incredible mountain scenery. Home to the nomadic and ethnic Himba people, they have kept their individuality, culture and natural lifestyle, in this secluded area. The Himba are probably one of the most striking looking people in Africa and still dress in their traditional dress. Epupa Falls, on the Kunene River, is a "must" to see in Namibia.
Victoria Falls: The Victoria Falls, Mosi-oa-Tunya - "The Smoke that Thunders" - is one of the most spectacular sights and waterfalls on this planet, and has the largest curtain of falling water on earth, as well as being one of the seven wonders of the world. The mighty Zambezi River takes a deep plunge of 111m over an edge 1.7km wide. Discovered and named by the first European, to have set foot in this part of Africa, David Livingstone, in 1855. It is a must, in anyone's lifetime, to see this magnificent sight!
